Pinterest to drive 40 percent of all social media purchases

Facebook and Twitter, make room. Pinterest’s marketing power is growing.

According to an infographic by Tamba, Pinterest will account for 40 percent of social media driven purchases by the end of this year. Facebook’s share of purchases will drop to 60 percent and Twitter’s portion will disappear.

Here are more stats on the rising power of Pinterest:

  • Buyers referred from Pinterest are 10 percent more likely to buy something and spend 10 percent more than visitors from other social networks.
  • Pinterest receives 4 million daily unique visits.
  • Most Pinterest users are between 25-44 years old.
  • Forty-two percent of Pinterest users have a household income ranging from $25-$50k.
