By redesigning the company’s intranet site, communicators at State Farm renewed employee engagement
The implementation of a strategic communication plan doesn’t necessarily mean you have to recreate the wheel. This is especially true if yours is a large company with several communicators performing a variety of tasks. One would assume that what works in other company departments should ideally work in yours. The problem, of course, is that you may not be in touch with those other communicators. Aside from the yearly communications conference, chances are you rarely see or speak to many of your colleagues, thus making it difficult to borrow their successful ideas.
But what if all those successful tips and tactics—along with strategies, communication plans, marketing campaigns, and other resources—were all in one easy-to-find place on the company intranet? That’s the idea behind State Farm’s Web site, “The Communicator’s Hub.” It was set up to keep State Farm communicators across the United States and Canada connected through a series of tools, resources and communication plans in one convenient portal.
