As the eighth most valuable brand, Apple joins other technology companies on this prestigious list for the first time. Plus, advice to make your own company more valuable.

For the first time, Apple has landed on the list of the top 10 most valuable global brands.
According to an article from the Guardian, the iPhone and iPad maker currently ranks eighth, up nine spots from last year. Interbrand, which publishes the list annually, named Apple the biggest riser of the 100 brands evaluated, with its value rising 58 percent to $33.5 billion. To create its annual list, Interbrand assigns a dollar value to each brand after evaluating factors such as financial performance and brand strength.
“Setting the bar high in its category and beyond, Apple is the icon for great branding meeting great technology,” Interbrand said. Apple is the only new brand to crack the top 10 list. It displaced Nokia, which fell to 14th place.
