Are you allowed to use your iPhone for work, at work?

After years of requiring the BlackBerry for corporate communications, some are seeing the smarts in allowing other smartphones.

You’ve got an iPhone you want to use at work. But your boss has always insisted you use a company BlackBerry or nothing.

Such policies are not uncommon in workplaces, but the strictness about mobile devices is beginning to fade as employees clamor to use their own gadgets, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The arrangement can benefit both sides. The geniuses holding the purse strings have figured out that businesses don’t have to buy as many phones if they let employees use their own. And employees don’t have to carry around two devices—a company phone and their own.
