‘Bon Appetit’ burned for saying grillmaster and CEO are men’s jobs

The magazine apologizes and changes the introduction to a video series called “Dudes Grilling Things” after people complained on Twitter and blogs that the ‘humor’ was sexist.

Bust.com called it “lazy sexism.” Jezebel referred to it as “tired, gendered” BS. Bon Appetit magazine is calling it a mea culpa. The introduction to a collection of videos called “Dudes Grilling Things” had some readers up in arms about this paragraph, which blog The Braiser catalogued before it was changed:

“It’s a cliche because it’s true: men like grilling things. Women like grilling things too, of course, but at this point in history, grilling, like crying about sports and being a Fortune 500 CEO, is firmly located in the domain of Dude.”
