Communication (or lack thereof)

This corporate communicator uses his copying skills more than his writing talent. Sound familiar?

I work for a state governmental agency with a limited budget. Actually, I don’t think our budget is ridiculously small, but, because we are governmental, we have to be careful of the perception of how we are using the dollars.

One of the results is staffing limitations. Despite me having many years of experience (both with this agency and with private industry), I often find myself running off copies of materials, as opposed to being able to utilize my writing skills.

On the bright side, I’m a pretty well-paid copier. The downside is that I really don’t believe it is the best use of my skills.
