Which DE&I job titles are on the rise

Diversity, equity and inclusion has ascended the list of priorities for many organizations in recent months.

The death of George Floyd at the hands of police officers, graphically captured on video, shocked the consciousness of the country, and support for protests against police brutality and racial injustice surged over the summer. Many organizations released statements of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, or made promises to improve inclusive hiring practices and boost equity for employees of color.

While the COVID-19 crisis has thrown the struggle against systemic injustice and inequality into sharp relief, the trend of increased focus on DE&I has been coming over the last five years.

According to data from LinkedIn, job titles like “head of diversity,” “director of diversity” and “chief diversity officer” are up by 71%.
