Google attempts to ‘unify its brand’ to coincide with Google+ launch

Two of the search giant’s biggest brands, Blogger and Picasa, will soon become Google Blogs and Google Photos, respectively.

With the advent of its new social networking tool, Google+, the world’s top online search company is aiming to make its name even more prevalent on the Web.

Mashable reported this week that Google will “retire” its Blogger and Picasa brands in an effort to “unify its brand” in the coming weeks—around the time Google+ launches publically. Those blogs and photos aren’t going away; the sites will simply be renamed Google Blogs and Google Photos, respectively.
