The Web (and hopefully a few companies) celebrated Community Manager Appreciation Day on Jan. 28.
Does your company have a community manager?
Community managers do more than surf social networks all day. They are the online voices of their companies. They get customers excited about brands, answer their questions, and balance their needs with those of the company.
A recent infographic from Social Fresh offers some insight into the state of the profession. If you’re a community manager, want to become one, or are looking to hire one, this graphic is for you.
Here are a few highlights:
- Most community managers (79 percent) work for a brand. Only 21 percent work for an agency.
- Sixty-one percent of community managers are women. (But the amount of men in the position is steadily climbing.)
- The average community manager salary is $57,732.77.
- Sixty-four percent of community managers clock more than 40 hours per week, and 24 percent work more than 50 hours per week.
