Infographic: How to boost sales with user-generated content

Encourage customers to share photos and videos of your products online, and get ready to watch sales soar.

User-generated content is 20 percent more influential on customers than any other type of media.

If your organization isn’t using it, it’s time to start.

An infographic from Offerpop explains how sharing customer photos and videos of your products can help boost sales. (And who doesn’t want to do that?)

With social media users uploading 350 million photos to Facebook, 55 million photos to Instagram and more than 500 million tweets to Twitter each day, it’s time your brand get in on the action.

Here a few ways the infographic recommends capitalizing on user-generated content:

1. Build a library of user content: Encourage customers to share photos and videos of their purchases on social media. More than 90 percent (92 percent) of consumers worldwide say they trust word-of-mouth more than any other form of advertising.

2. Capture content from promotion participants: If you run a contest or promotion, have participants complete a sign-up form. Ask them to grant you permission to reuse their content on your website and ads.

3. Turn your website into a social hub: Share the best user content on social media with links back to your website. Feature user content on your website, too. When consumers see both professional and user-generated content about products, their engagement with your brand rises by 28 percent.
