Infographic: Tips for your 2015 marketing budget

Budgeting season is here. If you’re curious how your peers will spend their marketing budgets in 2015, this infographic provides some insight.

It may only be October, but there are already Thanksgiving commercials on TV (thanks, Pier 1) and Christmas decorations in stores.

You know what that means. It’s budgeting season.

To help you determine your priorities and strategies for next year, Ciceron created this infographic, which reveals how chief marketing officers (CMOs) plan to spend their time and money.

Here are a few insights:

  • CMOs will increase their digital marketing budgets by 10.8 percent in 2015, and decrease their traditional marketing budgets by 3.6 percent.
  • CMOs will increase the amount they spend on marketing consultants by 4 percent next year.
  • CMOs predict social media will represent 21.4 percent of budgets in the next five years.

The infographic also says almost 100 percent (95 percent) of CMOs believe content marketing was important to their business in 2014, and that trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
