Take a minute to think about the employees at your company.
What do they complain about most? Their salaries? Benefits?
If you don’t know, you should find out—fast.
An infographic from Inc.com reports 86 percent of employees plan to find new jobs in 2013. With a statistic like this, employers need to take employee satisfaction seriously.
According to the graphic, employees are most dissatisfied with these aspects of their jobs:
- On-the-job stress (33 percent)
- Health benefits (31 percent)
- Salary (28 percent)
How can you ensure your employees don’t jump ship?
Know that making an employee happy goes beyond padding a salary and adding more coverage to a health plan (though that will definitely help). Companies should remember that each employee wants something different from his or her employer.
For example, while men do list more money as one of the top things they want from their employers, women are more interested in reduced and flexible hours. Those between the ages of 33 and 50 value a higher job title, and those 32 and younger want employers to offer them more training.
