Anthony D'Angelo
Professor of Practice and Department Chair in Public Relations - Syracuse University
Anthony D’Angelo, APR, Fellow PRSA, is a professor of practice and department chair in Public Relations at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications. He joined Newhouse in 2015 following 30 years in communications leadership roles in the agency, corporate and not-for-profit sectors, most recently for ITT Corporation.
D’Angelo’s writing and commentary on public relations and strategic communications have been featured in The New York Times, BusinessWeek, the Financial Times, USA Today, CNBC, NPR, Reuters, Forbes, Sports Illustrated, AdAge and other outlets, and he was a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal’s “Crisis of the Week” column. He was editor of a book published in October 2021, 75 Years of Impact and Influence: People, Places & Moments in Public Relations History, and is co-author of a textbook on writing to be published later this year.
D’Angelo served as co-chair of the Commission on Public Relations Education (CPRE) from 2020 to 2021, and was PRSA’s national chair in 2018. He received the Newhouse School’s Excellence in Teaching and Excellence in Research, Writing, and Creativity Awards in 2023. He is a member of the Page Society and PRSA’s College of Fellows, elected in recognition of his contributions to the field.
