Katie Townsend

Katie Townsend is the SVP of Marketing and Communications for the Climate Pledge Arena and the Seattle Kraken, the first NHL expansion team to defeat the reigning champions in their first playoff series. A former BBC senior news producer turned comms professional, she’s originally from England and worked for ten years as a journalist at the BBC telling global stories to audiences of millions. These include general election campaigns, the Troubles in Northern Ireland and the rescue of the Chilean miners. On moving to Seattle, she made the transition to communications and PR and worked for WE Communications for four years, during which she served as VP of communications and before that as its director. She now leads the team responsible for marketing, brand and storytelling at the Kraken.
