Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Content - The Trevor Project
Kevin Wong (he/him) is the Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Content for The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention organization for LGBTQ young people. He oversees three teams that manage media relations, celebrity & influencer engagement, social media and email marketing, paid advertising, creative and content, strategic partnerships, and more. The Trevor Project has been honored by Fast Company’s 2022 Brands That Matter Awards, Adweek’s Brand Genius Award, and PR Daily’s Social Media & Digital Awards for Brand Awareness.
Wong previously served as the organization's VP of Communications and led a team that PR Daily awarded as Communications Team of the Year. Prior to that, he worked on the Communications & Marketing team for iHeartMedia, where he promoted iHeartRadio’s social impact initiatives, marquee music festivals, streaming music app, B2B and nonprofit partnerships, and more than 850 radio stations nationwide. He was also the PR Manager at Six Flags Great Adventure.
Wong volunteers on PRSA-NY’s Board of Directors as the VP of DEI, and as an awards judge for the Halo Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, PRWeek Awards US, and PRWeek Healthcare Awards. He has been recognized by PRWeek’s 40 Under 40 list, PRSA-NY with the President’s Award and as a Top 10 LGBTQ PR Leader, PR News as a Social Impact Pioneer, PR Daily as the Nonprofit Communications Professional of the Year, and Muck Rack as a Top PR Person to Follow. He has been featured in PRWeek, Muck Rack, and PR Girl Manifesto, and his voice has appeared in ABC News, NBC News, USA Today, Variety, Adweek, CNBC, and more. He has moderated a SXSW featured session and presented at the National Institutes of Health’s Communications Roundtable, Engage for Good, PR News Awards, and Muck Rack’s State of PR, and has shared his personal and professional experiences with staff at CNN, USA Today, and LOGO, as well as PRSA and numerous PR agencies.
