Lora Strum is a writer, editor and creative strategist focused on impact storytelling and community engagement.
Before joining the ACLU comms and marketing team in 2022, Strum developed and led digital-engagement strategy for The Atlantic Magazine during the 2020 election, the revitalization of the Black Lives Matter movement, and the coronavirus crisis. She honed her skills in people-first reporting at the PBS NewsHour, where her work focused on eliminating barriers between audiences and the expert reporting needed to inform their decisions about climate change, political divides, gender justice, racial equity and more.
Specializing in cultural criticism and profile writing, Strum is a contributing writer for Marquette University Magazine and a features writer for BroadwayWorld.com. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic Magazine, the PBS NewsHour, Washington City Paper, and more.
