JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a communications professional with a passion for storytelling and an interest in the nonprofit industry? We are looking for an Associate Director of Communications for one of our clients in the NYC area. This position is a hybrid position 2-3 days onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Communications development and strategy- writing public relations and communications materials that demonstrate strong storytelling abilities, knowledge of AP Style
• Creating news releases, op-eds, speeches for events, etc.
• Reporting on newsworthy events in a timely manner
• Drafting stories for different mediums to reach donors and demonstrate the value of the organization
• Overseeing social media strategy and managing a freelance social media manager
• Managing relationships with US based media outlets, primarily religious media outlets.
• Leading direct mail strategy and creating communications for the mailers

Requirements:

• Comfortability with a hybrid work model
• AP Style expertise
• Interest in being a hands on communications professional- 70% of this role will be writing
• Ability to write communications materials about complex topics
• 7+ Years of relevant experience
