JOB DESCRIPTION
Honeywell is seeking a Manager, Internal Communications, reporting to the Senior Director of Human Resources, Commercial, based in our global headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a poised and savvy internal communications professional who wants to help shape the future.
This leader will lead and deliver internal communications counsel and support for a Honeywell executive who leads the commercial organization. This work involves strategic planning in support of key functional initiatives and business priorities; developing and delivering robust, sound communications plans and messages; and preparing the executive for key presentations.
The person in this role will develop and execute global internal communication strategies resulting in campaigns that drive employee engagement and forge stronger alignment with the company’s direction.
Storytelling experience and prowess is a must as this individual will help guide efforts to consistently develop creative, compelling, and human-focused content that connects Honeywell employees with each other, leaders, and the company’s strategic initiatives. Fluency in and passion for analytics is also imperative as we seek to measure and interpret data that help us enhance our communication practices across the company.
Finally, the individual in this role must be willing to roll up sleeves and help execute and promote signature internal events from the commercial team’s perspective, including functional town hall meetings, the annual Honeywell Senior Leadership Meeting and the annual Technology Symposium.
The ideal candidate will be a confident, independent communications professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience. A corporate or agency background is a plus, especially with proven track record of driving internal communications success. This individual should have outstanding executive presence and a keen interest in understanding a business, a strong orientation toward process and organization, and the ability to influence partners and clients in a highly matrixed corporate environment. Outstanding written and verbal communication are required, as is mastery of Associated Press Style.
Ours is a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and accountable culture. If you are highly productive working on tight deadlines and complex challenges and can ably manage demands and pressure from multiple executives and competing priorities, you will likely thrive here. At Honeywell, The Future Is What We Make It.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead internal communications strategy focused on the commercial team’s priorities, mission and messages, supporting efforts to strengthen employee engagement and drive business results.
- Support major initiatives, organization transitions, leadership changes, and other transformation steps through innovative and effective communication plans that address the needs of varied audiences and stakeholders.
- Focus on executing the details around communications excellence, including communications platforms and message delivery.
- Support cross-company measurement of internal communications effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Raise the bar on the quality of internal communications by guiding content strategies that result in elegantly simple, visually compelling, and easily understandable communications.
- Oversee and contribute to editorial planning/development in support of the commercial team’s agenda.
- Support the execution of the annual Senior Leadership Meeting, the annual Technology Symposium, and functional town halls.
You Must Have
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 6+ years of demonstrated successful experience in internal communications, especially in a corporate or an agency environment.
