The candidate for this position must be working from the Americas region, ideally United States or from Canada.
You are a self-motivated, creative and all-rounder communications professional with a passion for the impact exceptional communications can have on a business.
You will develop and execute an innovative and compelling plan that supports internal and external communications activities for the Electrification Service Division in the US and the Americas region, that builds our business’s brand and profile in the market drives employee engagement, and helps to develop a customer-first, people-centered culture.
You will join a newly formed team that is defined by collaboration and a vision to inspire and engage through communications.
Your responsibilities
- Marketing communications – as the lead for the US and Americas, develop a plan to promote the business’s technological leadership, and support product launches and product promotions, in collaboration with local Marketing & Sales team, to maximize visibility and support execution of business strategy, and improve market position and customer retention.
- External communications – develop an external communications plan aligned with business goals to build brand awareness and expand the breadth and potential of Service in the market through clear, impactful and proactive external communications. Responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of external communications activities including media relations, social media, issues management, events (digital and face-to-face), advertising and content creation.
- Internal communications – develop an internal communications strategy in coordination with regional and US executive management team to develop a culture where employees feel connected, engaged and inspired to make great things happen. Implement the plan in a timely, relevant, engaging and expert manner, across multiple internal channels. Provide strategic communications guidance to the local leadership team.
- Content – as regional content lead for internal and external communications, driving awareness of and engagement in Service by creating high quality, cohesive content that brings Service priorities, successes and the organization to life, from press releases, customer case studies and social media content to presentations, speeches and videos.
- Events and branding – Support and ensure effective planning and implementation of assigned and agreed global/local events for the Division/region, including media/press events and internal events – both in person and digital. Act as brand ambassador, ensuring the global ABB brand is properly and consistently applied.
- Channel and community management – develop internal and external digital and event platforms as living platforms for dialogue, exchange and content.
- Collaboration – Develop productive relationships with colleagues across other businesses, divisions and countries to ensure seamless alignment of activity. Represent the region at the global division level to ensure markets and priorities are properly represented and amplified, while ensuring that global initiatives are rolled out in market. Your background
- Undergraduate Degree or higher, minimum 5 years of communications in a culturally diverse, global organization. Global / regional / B2B experience preferred
- Fluent English, working knowledge of Spanish a plus
- Exceptional content / copywriting / storytelling skills, experience in creating and editing digital and online content and messages
- Passionate about digital communications and the power of social media with proven experience in analyzing and developing relevant metrics
- Desirable – Experience or maturity to work directly across all levels – from with senior leaders to grassroots
- Ability to be hands-on in a small team, and to be comfortable working on complex projects concurrently, often under pressure.
