JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Content Strategy and Execution is responsible for the design and execution of a content strategy across public relations channels. This experienced People Leader will define content strategy, serve as managing editor across all content initiatives, and manage a team of 7 content developers across communications channels to drive positive brand awareness, engagement, and assist marketing with lead generation. The ideal candidate is a passionate storyteller with significant experience working cross-functionally to develop content across multiple platforms and formats. The Director of Content Strategy & Execution works collaboratively with the director of public relations to align strategies and tactics in support of business objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Build and execute a content strategy that supports and extends public relations and marketing initiatives, driving awareness and assisting with lead generation.
• Serve as a lead strategist overseeing editorial strategy and operations, channel optimization, brand consistency, localization, analytics, and measurement.
• Align content themes and assets to the needs of target audiences, infusing Novant Health’s business objectives across channels.
• Create and manage an editorial calendar mapped to business objectives, key announcements and events.
• Partner with marketing teams including brand elevation, demand generation, and digital marketing to create and optimize content assets to increase awareness, campaign effectiveness, and lead generation.
• Measure content success and adjust strategy as needed to drive results.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required: Concentration in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing preferred.
10+ years required of experience as a leader in multichannel content creation, social media, public relations, marketing, or related fields.
Demonstrated business acumen; budget management skills, able to articulate the health system’s cause and vision.
Ability to deeply understand the corporate positioning, consumer needs and the Novant Health communications channels to translate information into consumable content and compelling stories for a variety of audiences across a variety of channels.
Excellent organizational skills: proven capability to manage everything from strategy to the small details needed to execute the programs.
Experience creating compelling messages for different target demographics.
Ability to build and closely manage a diverse team of content development specialists that can operate successfully across departments and functions.
Ability to act cross-functionally across public relations, internal communications, and marketing to maximize content across audiences and channels.
A willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategies on the fly.
