JOB DESCRIPTION
Working directly with the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director of Marketing will be a part of a highly collaborative and thriving team at Ragan, a diversified media and training company serving communicators, marketers, and HR professionals. This candidate will have event marketing experience at a business-to-business company and will focus on digital marketing efforts that lead to paid conversions (attendees) for our event and awards business. The right candidate should have experience in email marketing, programmatic advertising campaigns, audience development, social media, database management, email and website analytics, list acquisition and organic growth of customer databases.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute marketing plans for paid conferences and events, based on revenue and expense budgeted.
- Copy writing for email marketing campaigns, media kits, press releases and other efforts as assigned.
- Copy writing (marketing copy) for event websites, ads, and social media.
- Work directly with the database director to analyze programs, generate new leads and increase sales.
- Report and analyze data for all email, ad, and social media campaigns.
- Oversee and execute all SEO and SEM efforts for events.
- Develop and execute programmatic campaigns for events.
- Develop and execute an ongoing monthly plan for list acquisition.
- Develop and execute an ongoing plan for audience development campaigns and database health.
- Assist in overseeing email schedule and proofing of emails.
- Collaborate with the creative team on new email campaigns, social media images and website designs.
- Collaborate with the web development team on enhancing the UX experience and optimizing paid conversions.
- Report on revenue and expenses weekly.
- Collaborate with the executive team on yearly budget planning.
- Meet and exceed revenue goals for all product responsibilities monthly.
- Team management and leadership.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Located in Chicago or the NY metro area.
- Basic knowledge of html, database management software, data analysis software.
- Ability to manage several projects, deadlines and revenue accountability.
- A “roll up your sleeves” mentality.
- Travel 3-5 times per year.
Education and Experience:
- Four-year degree in Marketing, Communications, or another relevant field.
- 5-10 years of relevant paid event marketing experience or equivalent experience.
