JOB DESCRIPTION
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist will work closely with the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to effectuate the CAP’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy and deliver on the DE&I initiatives at the ground level to solidify that DE&I is embedded throughout our business processes and practices. The candidate for this role will be excited about working with others to support the implementation of best practices to promote an inclusive workplace.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Support Employee Resource Group leaders and its subcommittees in their facilitation of inclusion-related activities including regular meeting planning and assistance with organizing internal and external events
- Support execution of a diversity and inclusion communication strategy to ensure broad communication on all initiatives, including creating an annual calendar of communications that includes celebrations for DE&I related matters and managing a monthly DE&I newsletter
- Oversee DE&I intranet communications and internal social media platforms
- Schedule and facilitate program meetings to include preparing agenda items, distribution of agendas, and capturing and working follow up actions
- Create and maintain project plans and program documents
- Coordinate DE&I trainings and collaborate with learning and development team to facilitate sessions
- Support Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to monitor, analyze and prepare annual and quarterly reports, and ad hoc reports as needed to measure progress of diversity and inclusion initiatives outcomes
- Track and analyze DE&I analytics, including historical trends, benchmarking, and breakdowns by sub-categories and segments, making recommendations for improvements, as appropriate
- Plan and attend DE&I recruiting and networking events as needed
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading and prioritizing multiple projects to timely completion with exceptional organization aptitude
- High attention to detail and action-oriented demeanor
- Strong knowledge of relational/statistical databases and reporting tools
- Ability to create PowerPoint presentations & marketing material
- Cultural competence beyond own affinity and international work-experience a bonus
- Excellent oral and written communications; ability to prepare clear, concise written materials and presentations for a wide-ranging audience
- Ability to act and make independent and discretionary judgement
- Understanding of history and interest in fair and equal access, equity, race and ethnicity, gender, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, veterans, and marginalized communities or strong willingness to learn and be curious in this space
- 2+ years of experience supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
- Approachable and demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate and collaborate effectively across all functions and levels
