This position is located at our Fort Worth, Texas corporate office and has the potential to be a hybrid position with up to 50% remote work.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and direct the execution of the annual Marketing Communications plan and budget for the Business Unit you support
- Work cross-functionally on developing Marketing Communications strategies that support business goals
- Create impactful, customer-focused messaging that supports business objectives while enhancing the overall company narrative
- Manage the execution of a variety of deliverables for the Business Unit you support, including customer communications, print and online collateral, trade show/event materials, video/interactive communications, social media, and presentation development and speaker support
- Work on periodic content refreshing of the customer section of bnsf.com and sales support materials available on the Communications Hub
- Develop knowledge in understanding operations, network performance, service, and capital investments
- Lead and manage the content planning for customer events, symposiums, industry events and meetings, and tradeshows
- Serve as a counselor/advisor to business unit leaders and drive Thought Leadership for leaders to include making recommendations for where to speak, writing abstracts, and creating strategy and content for LinkedIn
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Thorough understanding of Corporate Communications and Marketing Communications processes, tools, techniques, and best practices
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including AP-style writing
- Strong leadership and creative skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment while under pressure and in high-stress situations
- Skilled project manager in including all content planning (agenda, content, videos, speaker lineup, and presentation decks) for customer events, symposiums, industry events and meetings, and tradeshows
- Demonstrates personal organization, planning and time management skills
- Skilled at developing, managing and producing annual Marketing Communications plans, including print, interactive and multi-media/online web content within a specified budget
- Minimum five years experience in Marketing/Corporate Communications or Advertising with emphasis on client services and implementation of communications programs
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, or Communications preferred
- Working knowledge of supply chain, transportation and/or rail industry preferred
