JOB DESCRIPTION
Cooley is seeking a Marketing Content Assistant to join the Marketing & Business Development team.
Position summary:
Under the direction of the Marketing Content Director and Marketing Content Manager, the Marketing Content Assistant is responsible for supporting the infrastructure of the marketing content team as well as supporting and executing specific marketing content projects. This role will work closely with the marketing department at large and other administrative teams to support the centralization, standardization and development of marketing collateral and materials used to promote the firm’s strengths. Work is defined by the goals, objectives and policies of the department and the practices. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Position responsibilities:
- Draft and edit marketing materials, including but not limited to firm, department, practice and matter descriptions, fact sheets and one-pagers, biographies, “standard” pitch and proposal decks and templates, placemats and short-form video
- Help maintain firmwide marketing materials and templates in a centralized self-serve portal
- Maintain repository of completed projects
- Draft reports to evaluate the marketing content team’s successes and opportunities, including by tracking and analyzing all requests and completed materials
- Compile and keep up-to-date, accurate language and descriptions (in collaboration with practice group marketing team and other firm departments as needed) for marketing materials, including by leveraging Foundation, Frontify and other firm resources
- Assist with coordinating the final production of marketing materials, including checking all materials for grammar, spelling and compliance with firm style
- Assist with assessing and processing requests for marketing materials that come in through an intake form
- All other duties as assigned or required
Skills & experience:
Required:
- After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications, including firm marketing systems software
- Available to work overtime, as required
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, marketing or related field
- Previous experience in sales, marketing or account management-related field or previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment

- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and coordinate sophisticated marketing programs with good results

- Ability to develop professional relationships with department members, attorneys and other business professionals

The expected hourly pay range for this position is $23.00 – $32.00. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
