This role is a position within the Internal Communications team to help deliver consistent messaging to Ochsner Health employees. In particular, this role will work closely with the HR team to build ongoing understanding of important internal initiatives for employees. The supervisor is responsible for development and implementation of strategic internal communication plans including content creation to be delivered via Ochsner’s communications platforms including audience specific channels. Oversees various aspects of planning, writing and executing communications for employees, leaders and physicians and works on special projects as assigned.
Education / Certifications / Licensure / Specialized Training
High School diploma required.
Experience / Skills
10 years related experience or 5 years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations/Journalism, English or related degree.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with all levels of leadership, including executives, as well as various stakeholders
Solid writing skills.
Excellent project management skills working with cross-functional teams.
Experience in change management in large organizations.
Possess ability to meet evolving, ongoing deadlines.
Experience or exposure to a Human Resources environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel.
Abilities / Other
Must be able to transport 25 lbs
Position may require light travel.

- Manages internal communications needs supporting initiatives for Ochsner’s HR team.
- Develops editorial content, ensures its accuracy, obtains leadership approval and publishes it to the appropriate employee channels.
- Drives and manages initiatives via strategic communications plans, development of communications and execution.
- Supports and cross-trained on all system communications platforms.
- Assists in special projects to support additional internal initiatives.
