JOB DESCRIPTION
The Public Relations (PR) Supervisor oversees teams who propel Paycom’s public image through effective PR, social media, content marketing, thought leadership, influencer engagement, sponsorships and community relations strategy. This position works internally and, in the public, to broaden Paycom’s reach and brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the creation of targeted media lists and utilization of media monitoring platforms for news distribution and relation building with media and industry publications
- Act as a spokesperson at sponsorship events to enhance relationships and promote the brand
- Lead the development and implementation of PR strategy, including media pitches, press releases, case studies, and industry intelligence and competitive environment monitoring and reporting
- Supervise the work of other leaders, including setting goals and priorities, interviewing and hiring, training and developing, and reviewing performance
- Oversee and support investor relations materials, including press releases, website updates, presentations, and earnings materials
- Seek out stories and facilitate pitches and interviews with targeted press representatives
- Increase public profiles of senior management by developing PR campaigns and opportunities to raise brand profile in the payroll/HR industry and establish them as industry experts
- Collaborate across communication channels to help shape the perceptions of customers, prospects, press, influencers, etc., within the local and national business community
- Lead media coaching for Paycom leadership and representatives
- Oversee the creation and execution of a reputation management strategy that encompasses routing negative reviews to operations and engaging client advocates to tell their story across review sites
- Manage a sizeable budget for each team of oversight.
- Lead a team of content creators in strengthening Paycoms position as a thought leader through mediums like webinars, podcasts, and blogs
- Pursue, develop and maintain relationships with industry influencers
- Act as on-air talent and co-host of webinars and podcasts
- Oversee and approve graphic elements for newsletters, ads, emails, and web pages
- Create communications vehicles for and oversee execution of internal and client communications campaigns
- Manage and support Paycoms sponsorships including local and national partnerships
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors Degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, advertising, or related field
Experience:
- 8 years in public relations, marketing, public speaking, and copywriting experience.
- 3-5+ years of leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
- 10+ years in public relations, marketing, public speaking, and copywriting experience.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to develop and pitch creative and compelling story ideas to media nationwide
- Strong editorial eye
- Demonstrated copy writing ability for advertising/marketing copy for print collateral, internet and email marketing and news writing for press releases, newsletters, and magazines (AP Style)
- Excellent interpersonal skills; be able to create rapport and inspire confidence
- Strong planning skills and proven experience in coordinating ideas and resources to achieve goals.
- Ability to handle a number of high priority projects simultaneously and effectively
- Ability to handle stressful situations with poise and continue to operate effectively
- Able to work well with others across the organization
- Ability to work effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team
- Computer proficiency in database management and MS Office products, specifically Word and Excel, media monitoring tools like Meltwater and social media planning tools like Sprout Social.
- Strong technical aptitude in learning new software quickly
