Tasteless speech of the month: British journalist Martin Bashir, famed for his interviews with Princess Diana and Michael Jackson, told a group of Asian-American journalists that he was “happy to be in the midst of so many Asian babes,” and also said, “In fact, I’m happy that the podium covers me from the waist down.” Bashir later apologized for his “moment of stupidity.”

In part, Waters says that Yang should have taken the opportunity to resign, and to acknowledge Carl Icahn’s plans for revamping the faltering company.
