Content: The Exxon Mobil Corporation Web site was tastefully well-organized and spare, and also chock full of useful information. Many corporations with country-specific sites require users to navigate from a “Select your region” landing page before they arrive at any real content. We liked that Exxon Mobil instead had their global site as their landing page and let users navigate to a region-specific site via the dropdown menu in the top right hand corner. From the home page users could also get Exxon’s stock price (updated daily) and latest news.
We liked that Exxon used the most prominent real estate on their home page—essentially an illustrated banner at the top of the page—to communicate the most important message they wanted to get across tousers, “Energy demand is going up all over the world, which is why we’re investing all over the world.”
