Dramatic, detailed pictures in a black-and-white publication can really liven up a spread. Take inFocus, for example. Editors for the CMS Energy publication recently added large, clear, detail-heavy diagrams and photographs to represent each paragraph of information in the two-page spread featuring Michigan’s newest clean coal power plant. The photos add a significant amount of visual information to the article, which is somewhat technical. As a result, the article is more readable and eye-catching.
