I’m a firm believer that there is a silver lining in every dark cloud and that good can come from bad. As we continue our discussion of five key strategies for communicating in bad times, we open the door to the blog you’ve always wanted.

Those of us in the Raganite world are constantly barraged by communicators who want to start a blog but can’t get executive buy-in. And there is a huge jealousy between communicators who don’t have corporate blogs and those who do.

If you are one of the many frustrated communicators trying to start a corporate blog, do it now. Tell executives this is a great place for employees to vent, rant, comfort, console and ask tough questions.

Before making your pitch to executives, do your homework and find out who on your staff is already an active blogger and whether any sites already exist that hold discussions about your company.
