Wisconsin gov’s DNC speech an ethics violation? Gov. Jim Doyle relied on state aide Lee Sensenbrenner to write the governor’s speech at the Democratic National Convention—but the state’s Government Accountability Board says Doyle may have violated a law that bans “using state resources for private gain.” Sensenbrenner told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, “This is him representing Wisconsin, advancing what he thinks is in the interest of people who live here.”

Giuliani biographer writes his speech: Ken Kurson, former deputy director of communications at Giuliani Partners and co-author of the Rudy Giuliani bio, Leadership, penned the former New York mayor’s RNC convention speech. Asked by the PolitickerNJ Web site for any comments about the speechwriting process, Kurson said, “I’m utterly unimportant.”
