Why A Women’s Retreat?

I have been honored to be one of the founders of Ragan’s Top Women in Communications program, shining a spotlight on bold and fearless leaders in our industry. One of my favorite events every year is when the Top Women come together at our awards luncheon. Because time is limited, the honorees don’t have ample opportunity to get to know one another. There’s an office to get back to – or at least a home office – and other things to do. Life goes on. We are heartened that so many Top Women in Comms tell us the award is one of their greatest honors. Our team at Ragan knew that there was more we can do to bring these top women together. That’s how the Women’s Retreats came about.
This special cohort of leading women will have a chance to get to know one another in an analog sort of way. We are confident that our industry as a whole will benefit and that each woman who attends will leave the retreat with a great sense of purpose and joy.
We are launching these events in 2024 as the beginning of something special for our industry, with the first retreat taking place April 9-11, 2024 at the Perry Lane Luxury Hotel in Savannah, GA and the second retreat on September 18-20, 2024 at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, CA. Invites for the September 2024 retreat will be sent out early 2024. We are beyond excited to get this started and see what amazing ideas and friendship will blossom from these events.
