Infographic: 20 percent of global workforce telecommutes
India and South America have the most telecommuters. See how the rest of the world, including the U.S., compares.
Telecommuting has been making headlines lately, particularly since Marissa Mayer banned it at Yahoo.
An infographic from HowDoIBecomeA.net examines telecommuting from a global perspective. About 20 percent of workers around the world spend at least part of their workweeks telecommuting, and each country has its own opinions about the practice.
Take, for example, India and South Africa. A whopping 82 percent of employees in these countries work from home at least once a week, and 32 percent work from home full time.
But it’s a different story in France and Germany. Only 12 percent of French and German employees work from home once a week, and a mere 1 percent telecommute full time.
