About 1 in 20 Twitter employees still use egg avatar

Commentators say use of the default avatar shows Twitter employees don’t take their jobs seriously.

In a post about Twitter’s ballooning employee count—the company has apparently added three more to surpass the 500 mark in the two days since the post went up—MediaBistro blogger Shea Bennett picked up on a head-scratcher. About 5 percent of Twitter’s employees still use the default egg avatar, it appears.

“Come on, guys—it should be like a rule or something,” Bennett wrote. “Give new staff members a printout on that first morning of their very first day. Job one: get a proper avatar.”
