Adapt to technology changes or disappear, Cisco guru warns

More new content was uploaded to YouTube in the past two months than could have been broadcast by ABC, NBC, and CBS combined if they’d been airing video 24 hours a day since 1948.

So says Carlos Dominguez, a technology evangelist at Cisco, who adds that if Facebook were a country, it would have the third-largest population on Earth. If such statistics indicate that the world is changing too fast, brace yourself. It’s only going to get worse.

“We’re going to see more change over the next three years than we’ve seen over the previous 25,” he said. “Things are not going to slow down; they’re going to get faster and faster and faster.”

At a recent Ragan.com conference held at Southwest Airlines’ headquarters, Dominguez made the case for strapping yourself into your rocket ship and preparing for a wild ride. The key is being adaptable.
