Agency CEO tests mom’s knowledge of PR

Does your mom know the name of your blog, or about the stresses of the PR profession? In honor of Mother’s Day, one industry practitioner decided to ask his mother the tough questions.

I gave my Mom plenty of storytelling fodder as a youngster.

It’s not like the trajectory of my youth marked me as a potential felon, but I did prefer to ignore, rather than test, parental boundaries, which caused some heartburn for Mom.

With Mother’s Day around the corner, I thought it was the perfect time to switch roles. No more, “Where you were young man last night until two in the morning?” This time I would be the one asking the questions.

To paraphrase a classic TV show title, “Moms do say the darndest things.”

Here’s the short video that captures the interview highlights (you’ll probably have to turn up the volume):

Obviously, the branding campaign around my blog needs some work.

Thanks, Mom, for being a good sport. You’re the best!

Happy Mother’s Day.

Note No. 1: I would like to thank my videographer, Jerry Hoffman, who shot the video with his iPhone, Jacqueline Meyler for her editing role, and Chauncey Hill for art direction. Yes, it takes a village to raise a mom (on video).

Note No. 2: If you’re kind enough to share this on your social channels, please use #PRMom.
