A look inside how Verizon works with AI video
Video AI can help speed up editing processes and repurpose content.
At Ragan’s AI Horizons Conference, attendees learned about the rapid development of generative AI video tools. Even in regulated organizations, communicators can find use cases and applications for AI-generated video.
“The technology is getting more realistic, more powerful and easier to use,” Steve Van Dinter, senior director of communications at Verizon, told the audience. “And communicators need to learn how to use it the right way.”
Van Dinter said that one of the biggest benefits of video-based AI is that it can allow for content generation and editing at high speed. For instance, he said that applications like Arbor enable communicators to take a single video clip, run it through the AI platform, and create short-form video for social, image stills and more.
“One of the things we as communicators are often stuck with is never enough time in our day and always a lot of stuff on our plate,” he said. “Tools like these can take hours’ worth of content and turn it into minutes for you to quickly turn into something usable for intranet, internal portals or external channels.”
