The truth of what AI means for comms pros

With all the AI hype, it can sometimes be tough to tell what AI is really poised to change for comms pros and what’s just marketing and speculation. It’s led many comms pros to speculate where they figure into an increasingly automated workplace.

At Ragan’s AI Horizons Conference earlier this year, Wade Younger, AI program strategy advisor at Humana, hosted a panel with Jared Curtis, vice president of corporate communications at Maximus, and Alfredo Richard, executive vice president of communications at NBC Universal Telemundo Enterprises, on the truth about AI.

Younger opened the discussion by likening AI’s advancements to the discovery of DNA. He compared the time gaps between the mapping of the double helix in the 1950s and advancements in genome mapping in the 21st century to illustrate that it can take time to determine what comes next after a major breakthrough.
