Many marketers and PR pros use social media to connect with consumers, but what should one do when Pinterest and Tumblr aren’t specific enough?
For comms pros in the $300 billion home improvement industry, the answer is Houzz, a community that is home to more than 5 million photos of bathrooms, master bedrooms, man caves and even treehouses.
The photos are uploaded by more than 600,000 design and remodeling professionals, forming an interactive portfolio that members of the community can peruse for design ideas, talk to contractors and buy items or remodeling services for their home.
Houzz is popular well beyond the U.S. The company announced in December that it would expand to Japan. Its offerings are available in the U.K., France, Germany, Canada and Australia.
