Banal hacker hits Huffington Post Twitter account

At the hands of the self-named ‘cloverfdch,’ a lame, homophobic, and racist rant Sunday on the news outlet’s feed falsely tagged The New York Post as the culprit.

Not to fear, HuffPost faithful. The account had been hacked.

Originally declared to be “Hacked by: New York Post,” there was no indication the Rupert Murdoch-owned media outlet had any involvement in the incident, although the subsequently self-named “cloverfdch” has been panned by other news sources for not only the hacking itself, but for his/her distasteful tweets.

Rather than take on The Huffington Post‘s political philosophy, say, or lampoon its fondness for slideshows and sometimes misleading headlines, the hacker simply offered sophomoric, homophobic taunts.

The New York Observer asserted that the hacker needed better material after posting half-witted racist updates such as, “You niggas can call me cloverfdch,” as well as “@HuffPostgays faggots.”
