Want the inside scoop behind a journalist’s life?

As a recovering newspaper reporter, I recently took a stroll down memory lane. (And since I’m out of the biz, I’m now allowed to write as many clichés as I want.)

Ex-journalists, furloughed Gannett employees and PR people will get a kick out of Stuffjournalistslike.com, a blog started by two former reporters at the Greeley Tribune in Colorado. Inspired by the book, “Stuff White People Like,” David Young and Chris Ortiz list some industry staples, including: writing while standing up, free food and procrastinating. And low pay, which is probably meant to be tongue-in-cheek.

It’s a heartfelt, satirical blog dedicated to a profession that both bloggers love—even though they both lost their newspaper jobs. Ortiz said the blog could help them network with other journalists and potentially lead them to their next gig.
