Tips for workplace mindfulness and reflection over holiday breaks

Thanksgiving week is here, and comms pros across the country are preparing for a few days of rest and relaxation with friends and family. As important as this quality time with loved ones is, it also offers much-needed time away from the daily grind of our jobs. Let’s look at a few ways we can become better, more balanced employees through how we interact with our jobs — and avoid interacting with our coworkers — over holiday breaks.

When you’re out of the office, stick to it.

I’d be willing to bet that after close of business on Tuesday if you try to email a client or colleague, there’s a good chance you’re met with an out-of-office email. With people traveling far and wide to spend valuable time with those they care about, they’re obviously putting the message up for a good reason. They’re not at their desks and they don’t plan to be.
