Companies are spending increasingly large amounts of money on social media.
According to an infographic from Flowtown, companies around the world spent about $480 million on social media advertising in 2006. Today, that number is $4.26 billion. In the United States, social networking ads make up an estimated 7 percent of all online ad spending.
