During a presentation at the Communicating With the Front Lines conference in October 2006, Susan Russ, director of public affairs and internal communication for Reader’s Digest, shared the secrets behind the success of the company’s global intranet. Chief among the intranet’s new and improved features was an interactive town hall meeting with the CEO.

Since Russ’ appearance at the conference, several industry associations have honored the Reader’s Digest intranet, including the Public Relations Society of America, the International Association of Business Communicators, and the Association for Women in Communication, to name a few. We recently caught up with Russ to find out what it takes to keep your intranet strong long after it’s new.
