1. Get personal. Poorly motivated employees are usually the people just working for a paycheck. They have no real emotional investment in the organization. You have to change their perspective. Begin by discussing what matters most to them. What are their aspirations? What dreams do they have for their families? Helping workers see that your organization is a partner in getting their child through college or buying their dream house will strike a deeper chord than the idea that you’re simply a means of paying the rent.
