Poll: More companies holding holiday parties
Companies are feeling generous and upbeat this holiday season. Compared with last year, there are plenty of holiday parties on the calendar.

Although a lot of organizations were feeling the financial pinch last year, more are in a giving mood this December. According to a poll by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), more than two-thirds (68 percent) will hold a holiday end-of-year party in 2011.
“As the economy continues to improve for many businesses, it appears more employers are celebrating the holidays and the end of the year with parties, which act as an employee reward and morale booster,” said Evren Esen, manager of the SHRM Survey Research Center.
