Strategic communications veteran brings 25+ years of experience to shape learning & development, community and event programming for the Ragan community
CHICAGO – March 16, 2026 – Ragan Communications, the leading media and training company serving communications, marketing and HR professionals, announced today the appointment of Rachel Salis-Silverman as its inaugural Chief Communications Officer (CCO). In this new role, Salis-Silverman serves as the in-house communications strategist, bringing the voice and perspective of the communicator into the vast portfolio of Ragan’s offerings.
Salis-Silverman is a strategic communications executive with more than 25 years’ experience leading reputation, brand and stakeholder engagement strategies. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Reputation and Communications at Nemours Children’s Health, one of the nation’s largest multi-state pediatric health systems, where she led teams across public relations and thought leadership, social media, internal communications, and issues and crisis management.
“As someone dedicated to a lifetime of learning, I can think of no better opportunity than serving as the inaugural Chief Communications Officer for Ragan,” said Salis-Silverman. “My vision is to build on Ragan’s legacy by identifying emerging trends and translating insights from our community to curate programming and services that can further elevate the communications profession.”
As CCO, Salis-Silverman will help guide and inform L&D programming, community outreach, peer-to-peer events, conference curriculum, and proprietary content for the Communications Leadership Council (CLC) and the Center for AI Strategy.

Prior to her role at Nemours, Salis-Silverman led public relations and launched the public affairs program at the American Association for Cancer Research. She has served as a PR specialist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, leading campaigns with global impact. Prior stints include restaurant publicist at a PR agency and programming for Hillel of Greater Philadelphia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from The Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Marketing from Temple University’s Fox School of Business. She resides in Philadelphia.
