“Everything is tied to a business purpose,” Krogmal said. Those tie-ins are no accident. InSight staff plans the topics for all 12 issues well ahead of time and begins designing and writing the stories roughly eight weeks before that edition is published. The 12 topics, Krogmal said, are part of Allied’s overall corporate mission. For example, in addition to leadership, there are stories about engagement and ways to become an ambassador to the community. These stories are told through the eyes of an Allied associate but tie in to the overarching corporate mission.

InSight has always been a business-focused publication,” explained Krogmal. “It’s a tool to help associates do their jobs better. Over the years, we’ve gotten better at combining the strategic, business-focused approach with what associates are telling us.”
