Your outdated AI adoption guidelines aren’t going to cut it
Find your team’s AI maturity stage.
Nearly every communicator is using AI on the job in some facet. But not all of them work at companies that have formally built out an AI adoption process that’s made it easier to adjust workflows. During Ragan’s Employee Experience Conference in Nashville last month, Samantha Stark, founder and chief strategist at Phyusion, told the audience that while communicators are putting AI to use, they aren’t all maximizing its potential.
“Ninety-eight percent of us are using AI on a very frequent basis,” Stark said. “But are we using it well? And the answer to that is generally no, because people need a whole different type of change and training to holistically shift the way that they work for that to be impactful.”
She added that part of the issue with effective AI adoption by employees is that training is either not up to date or too generic to apply to an organization’s specific needs and functions.
“Often companies are still dealing with AI guidelines that IT wrote two years ago. It’s not going to cut it anymore,” Stark said. “You need to figure out by department what your best practices are. What do you use AI for? Which AI? Everything actually has to be by discipline, or else it’s just not as impactful.”
