Arlene Corbin Lewis is a communications and marketing executive with 20+ years of experience building high-functioning comms operations for mission-driven organizations.
She currently serves as Chief Communications and Marketing Officer at Code for America, a national civic technology nonprofit, where she leads the MarComms function as a strategic operating unit and works closely with the organization’s leaders on external positioning. In this role, she has shaped Code for America's communications and marketing AI strategy and helped guide the organization's approach to emerging technologies.
Throughout her career, Arlene has built communications functions from the ground up at the Urban Institute, Demos, and Habitat for Humanity International. Her expertise spans policy communications, media relations, brand marketing, and executive thought leadership, giving her a rare range across advocacy, research, and mission-driven sectors.
Arlene holds a bachelor's degree in Communications Studies, a Master's in Mass Communications, and a degree in Political Science. She is a 2026 graduate of The Campaign School at Yale, where she trained in political campaign strategy. She also serves as a Housing Commissioner for the City of Glenarden in Maryland.
